Video - Boxer Makes a Difference
Tony “Superbad” Harrison is the latest Detroit boxer to bring a title back to the city, winning the WBC super welterweight title in late December.
This belt means much to him but mentoring, training and tutoring kids in the neighborhood he grew up in on Puritan is where his heart lives.
“The sport of boxing is hard but we’re trying to teach them is the sport of life,” said Harrison.
He and other boxers at Superbad Fitness Center get the kids to focus on having a don’t quit mentality and getting them to overcoming the adversity and challenge they face in the ring when sparing with others.
